The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Warehouse & Transport Manager to lead their Goods In, Goods Out, and Transport operations.

This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing high-volume logistics activity, driving operational efficiency, and maintaining consistently high standards across all functions. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to support strategic objectives while ensuring day-to-day operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage Goods In and Goods Out warehouse operations
  • Lead and coordinate transport planning and fleet management
  • Manage, motivate, and develop a large operational team (circa 100 staff) across multiple shifts
  • Drive high levels of productivity, accuracy, and performance
  • Ensure adherence to operational processes and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on operational strategy and execution
  • Produce and maintain daily operational reports and performance metrics
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Champion the use of systems and technology to enhance performance
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and warehouse regulations
  • Maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant working environment

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience managing large teams within warehouse or logistics environments
  • Strong background in multi-shift warehouse operations
  • Experience in transport planning and fleet management
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transport Management Systems (TMS)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety and compliance standards
  • Strong communication and reporting skills
  • Comfortable driving and adopting new technologies
